Long’s strong start to 2026 earns her a second CAC weekly honor

HIALEAH, Fla. (Sept. 8, 2026) — Conquistador volleyball's libero Ariana Long was once again named the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Defender of the Week after an impactful game against the Ave Maria University Gyrenes.

"Florida National's Ariana Long, the Defender of the Week, recorded a remarkable 17 digs in the Conquistadors' match at Ave Maria University (Florida)," said the NAIA's press release Tuesday.

"The Homestead, Florida, native kept all three sets competitive by extending plays against a tall Ave Maria squad."

Through seven matches, Long has 11 assists, nine aces and 90 digs for the Conquistadors.

FNU and Long look ahead to a three-game week, starting with a Sept. 15 road match against the USCAA's Trinity College of Florida Tigers at 6 p.m.
