Ferreira’s second goal in two matches propels her to CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors

HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 13, 2026) — Conquistador women's soccer has its second weekly honoree for the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) in 2026 after newcomer Luiza Ferreira was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Ferreira has been on a tremendous offensive run her last two starts, posting the game-winning 88th-minute goal for Florida National against CAC foe Fisher College before helping FNU topple Florida College 3-0 Saturday.

"Ferreira, the defensive honoree, posted a goal for the second straight match in the Conquistadors' 3-0 victory against Florida College last Saturday," said the CAC's press release Tuesday.

The Conquistadors are now a perfect 2-0-0 against conference opponents and are 3-1 in their last four matches.

Ferreira and FNU head to Webber International on Oct. 17 for a noon match in Babson Park, Fla.
