HIALEAH, Fla. (Sept. 2, 2025) — Florida National's junior outside hitter and Homestead, Fla., native
Ariana Long was named the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Volleyball Defender of the Week. This is the veteran's first time earning a conference weekly award since joining FNU in 2020.
Long and FNU had a very productive week, boasting a 4-1 record and an undefeated stay at the USCAA Tip-Off. The Conquistadors used Long's 44 digs and 19 kills to defeat Penn State University Fayette, Penn State University Greater Allegheny, Kent State Tuscarawas and Christendom College. Long was also formidable at the net, posting three blocks.
"She [Long] had 16 digs and five kills against Kent State University Tuscarawas and eight kills in FNU's 3-1 win over Penn State University Fayette," said the CAC's press release Tuesday. "Long also picked up three total blocks for the week."
Florida National is now 9-0 against USCAA opponents in the regular season over the last two years.
