HIALEAH, Fla. (Dec. 8, 2025) — Men's basketball senior Gary Adams used a 10-steal week for his first Defensive Player of the Week honor this season from the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC). The Miami native went to work over two games for FNU, averaging just under six boards a game.

Against New College of Florida, Adams impressed with 24 points on 6-11 shooting to help Florida National post a much-needed 110-100 win on the road. This was the Conquistadors' first program win against the Banyans in their third ever match-up. 

"Adams, the defensive honoree, averaged 5.5 rebounds and five steals across two games last week," said the CAC's press release.

"The Miami native had five steals and six rebounds while scoring 24 points in helping the Conquistadors pick up a victory over New College of Florida last Saturday."

Adams and Florida National have an exhibition set for Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. against Lynn University.
