Bentancourt goes back-to-back; scores eighth career CAC Runner of the Week honor

HIALEAH, Fla. (Sept. 14, 2026) — Conquistador cross country's standout junior Lismar Bentancourt delivered her second Runner of the Week award from the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) in as many weeks.

Bentancourt became an eight-time CAC Runner of the Week honoree thanks to a fifth-place finish at the St. Thomas University Bobcat Invitational. She clocked in at 10 seconds slower than her personal record in the 6K, yet still posted the school's second-fastest time in the event.

"Bentancourt, the women's honoree, ran the second-fastest 6-kilometer time in program history (23:57.7) at the St. Thomas University Bobcat Invitational in Florida," said the CAC's press release.

Conquistador fans will have to wait to see Bentancourt back in action, as cross country's next race is set for Oct. 2., at the FLRunners.com Invitational in Lakeland, Fla.
