HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 13, 2025) — Florida National women's cross standout Lismar Bentancourt is the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Runner of the Week after finishing eighth with a time of 19:58.4 at the Ave Maria University Invitational. This her third conference runner of the week award in 2025. 

Last Saturday, Bentancourt was the fastest FNU runner in the women's 5K and was able to put up a solid performance against runners from NCAA DII schools like Saint Leo University and Barry University.

"Bentancourt, the women's honoree, placed eighth at the Ave Maria University Invitational last Saturday in Ave Marie, Florida," said the CAC's press release. "The Valencia, Venezuela, native covered the 5-kilometer course in 19:58.4 against a field that featured NCAA Division II schools Barry University (Florida), Eckerd College (Florida) and Saint Leo University (Florida)."

Bentancourt has her final regular season race set for Oct. 17 at the Holloway Classic in Lakeland, Fla.
