HIALEAH, Fla. (March 9, 2026) — Florida National softball's
Brunella Beteta used 14 strikeouts and a 4-0 record from the circle to command the team's first Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week award of 2026. Beteta and FNU have not lost a game in over two weeks, sitting on a ten-game winning streak.
"She [Beteta] posted a 1.14 earned run average across those five appearances in the circle," said the CAC's press release Monday. "The Lima, Peru, native scattered four hits and allowed two unearned runs in a 5-2 win against Judson University (Illinois) last Saturday."
The previous day, Beteta tallied six strikeouts in a 4-0 win against Michigan-Dearborn. She currently holds a team-high 2.05 ERA and has 46 strikeouts this season.
Beteta and FNU return to Viera, Fla., for two more games on the road March 11.
