(March 6, 2026) — Conquistador softball (10-10) got back into .500 territory with a 4-3 win over Bethel University (4-7) and a 4-0 triumph against Michigan-Dearborn (6-10). FNU has now tallied six straight wins over the last two weeks, and Gianna Hall crushed her sixth home run this season. To start FNU's campaign at the 2026 Spring Games in Viera, Fla., the Conquistadors went head-to-head opposite the Bethel Pilots. FNU fell behind early thanks to a three-run second frame for the team out of Indiana. Karleigh Friedrich kicked things off with a sacrifice fly to run in Grace Walker before Riley Northrop made it a 2-0 affair on an error by Annissa Quinonez. Kate Cooper topped things off with an RBI single to the left field line, leaving FNU with the burden of a response. But the Conquistador rose to the challenge, especially Hall. The sophomore claimed a three-RBI home run in the fifth against the relief pitcher Alysa Fritz, tying things up at three runs apiece. Ciara Santiago scored the game-winning run in the sixth, thanks to a line drive hit by Diana Anda that forced a costly error by Northrop. Notably, Sophia White was steady from the circle, pitching seven innings and ending the afternoon with seven strikeouts. Game two versus UM-Dearborn saw the Conquistadors be the offensive aggressors early and never look back. Quinonez grabbed an RBI single in the fourth to break the scoreless deadlock, while Bianca Bartow continued to find success at the plate to score Madisyn Garduno in the sixth. Pinch runner Brianna Marte capped off a four-run day for FNU after Alissia Vega got on board on an error by Kayla Finlaw.
