HIALEAH, Fla. (March 16, 2026) — Florida National softball landed its second week with a member of its team named a Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week after Sophia White took home her first award of 2026. The junior helped FNU go 15-2 in as many contests and score four triumphs last week.

"White, the Pitcher of the Week, had a 3-0 record and 1.17 earned run average across three appearances inside the circle last week," said the CAC press release. "She struck out 10 batters in an extra-inning victory against the University of Northwestern Ohio last Wednesday."

White then scored a 1-0 victory in another extra-inning game against Lawrence Tech on Saturday. On the season, the junior righty has a team-high 67 strikeouts and paces the team with 10 wins.

White and FNU host Baptist University of Florida tomorrow at noon from Vista Park. This is the first meeting between these two programs.
