HIALEAH, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2025) — Florida National's 
Lismar Bentancourt grabbed her first Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Cross Country Runner of the Week award this season after a 25th-place finish at the St. Thomas Bobcat Invitational.
An NAIA national qualifier and a three-time CAC Runner of the Week in 2024, Bentancourt had a time of 25:47.4 in the women's 6K Sept. 12. This was her first race of the 2025 season, and she was the top runner for the Conquistador women in Miami Gardens, Fla.
"Bentancourt, the women's honoree, paced the Conquistadors' effort with a 25th-place finish at last Friday's St. Thomas University Bobcat Invitational in Miami Gardens, Florida," said the CAC's press release. "The Valencia, Venezuela, native completed the 6-kilometer course in 25:47."
FNU's women's cross country team has now tallied back-to-back weekly conference awards after 
Mia Betancourt was named runner of the week on Sept. 8.
Bentancourt and FNU tackle their next race of 2025 on Oct. 11 at the Ave Maria University Invitational.
