Bentancourt takes home second CAC weekly honor

HIALEAH, Fla. (Sept. 30, 2024) - Cross country standout Lismar Bentancourt is the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season. Florida National finished fourth overall as a team at the St. Thomas University Bobcat Open 2 on Sept. 28, where Bentancourt finished in the top two.

"Bentancourt placed second at last weekend's St. Thomas University Bobcat Open 2, covering the 6-kilometer course in 24:39.7," said the CAC's Release."She was competing against runners from NCAA Division II schools Lynn University (Florida) and Nova Southeastern University (Florida) and NAIA's St. Thomas."

The Venezuelan transfer grabbed her first weekly honor from the CAC on Sept. 16. Florida National returns to action on Oct. 5 at the Ave Maria University Invite.
