Bentancourt finishes second overall at the STU Open 2

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Sept. 28, 2024) - Florida National's women's cross country team completed its fourth race of the 2024 season at the St. Thomas University Bobcat Open 2. The NAIA standout Bobcats hosted FNU and two NCAA DII schools: Nova Southeastern University and Lynn University.

Transfer student Lismar Bentancourt was the highlight of the Conquistador's time in Miami Gardens, Fla., crossing the finish line in second place at 24:39.7 in the 6K. Veteran Mia Betancourt followed closely behind at 30:40.0 to end the race in 23rd place. FNU's Joelle Baptiste, Daniela Sermini and Natalya Laura Paula ended the morning race 30th, 31st and 32nd, respectively. Notably, Sermini and Paula will be on the soccer field later today as the Conquistadors take on Ave Maria University on the road.
