Track and field ends first trip to Daytona at ERAU Eagle Invite

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 8, 2026) — Conquistador women's and men's track and field competed against top NAIA and NCAA DII schools at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Invitational Saturday. Notably, freshman Jailyn Otero placed in the top 20 of the women's 200m, while sophomore Keelee Okoro placed fourth in the high jump with a school record and personal best performance.

Okoro earned a mark of 1.48m in the high jump, tying with ERAU's Kate Cushing and Saint Leo University's Hailey Newton. Okoro also placed 25th in the 800m (2:45.41) and was part of FNU's 4x400M relay with teammates Mia Betancourt, Otero and Savanna Duperval. Moreover, Betancourt placed four spots ahead of Okoro in the 800m (2:38.97), and Otero's time of 27.18 in 200m landed her in 17th place. Betancourt was 2.65 seconds off her PR in the event.

Along with familiar faces for the FNU women, Lamaria Williams made her track debut with an appearance in the 400m (1:08.75, 23rd place, personal best).

For the FNU men, Mario Martinez was ninth in a competitive 800m race (1:57.76) and was part of FNU's 13th-place 4x400m relay team of Jordan Hall, Logan Lambert and Marven Cassamajor. Martinez posted his third-fastest time in the 800m, and FNU's relay clocked in at 3:32.15.

Donovan Agard ended his 200M race in 21st place with a time of 22.46. This was a personal record for the sophomore and .16 seconds off a school record in the event. Wenceslao Ferrin Arias joined Okoro with a personal record in the high jump with a 1.80m mark, and Cassamajor was 1.46 seconds off a school record in the 400m hurdles (59.93).


As a team, the Conquistadors placed 11th out of 12 teams on the women's side and 14th out of 14 in the men's team competition.
