TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Nov. 21, 2025) — Florida National cross country had four qualifiers impress at the 2025 NAIA Cross Country Championships.
Lismar Bentancourt broke her own school record in the 6-kilometer race, and
Mario Martinez posted a personal record in a field of over 320 runners.
For the FNU women, Bentancourt's time of 23:47.6 broke her school record from last season and was a personal best for the Valencia, Venezuela native. The sophomore placed 191st, moving up significantly from her 306th place finish last season on the national stage.
Karol Padilla posted her best time this season at 28:41.2 while junior
Mia Betancourt crossed the finish line with a time of 29:16.6. Padilla and Betancourt were 313th and 315th, respectively.
FNU's lone representative on the men's side produced an exceptional morning of running, as Martinez placed 290th out of 323 runners. He recorded a personal record of 28:20.8 in the 8-kilometer race, improving from his 315th finish at nationals last season.
