Carreno’s first collegiate goal earns her CAC honors

HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 27, 2025) — Women's soccer freshman Angelina Carreno is the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Carreno scored one of two FNU goals against NCAA Division II Edward Waters University on Oct. 20.

Carreno netted her first collegiate score on passes from Natalya Laura Paula and Latyfath Ubeda to make it a 3-2 affair in the second half against the Tigers. EWU went on to score two more goals to put the game away at Milander Park, but Carreno had a solid performance on both sides of the pitch.

"Carreno, the defensive recipient, scored her first collegiate goal against NCAA Division II Edward Waters University (Florida) last Monday," said the CAC's press release. "The Port St. Lucie, Florida, native plays a significant role in the Conquistadors' game plan for each match."

Carreno and FNU host New College of Florida on Oct. 27 at 3 p.m., its final home game of 2025.
