TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2026) — Men's soccer (7-4-0) left no question of its dominance in Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) play so far this season, posting a shutout win on the road opposite Florida College (1-8-2).
David Luque Rivero and
Michael Olszewski were responsible for the Conquistadors' goals in the program's 10th win over the Falcons since 2015.
Florida National has Luque Rivero's eighth goal of 2026 to thank for an early 1-0 lead against FC in the first half. Just under eight minutes into the match, the Seville, Spain, native buried his first score in over a week and signaled great things to come for FNU offensively for the rest of the match.
FC was kept in check in the first, heading to the break with one shot by Santiago Balza and a pair of corner kicks. Meanwhile, FNU was aggressive with four shots, a save for keeper
Ignacio Pacheco and six corner kicks.
The second half saw the freshman forward Olszewski take over scoring duties for Luque, finishing a touch pass by
Juan Ricaurte to essentially ice the game for FNU with the 55th minute goal.
The Falcons attempted to stop FNU from garnering more scoring opportunities, ultimately earning yellow cards for Victor Montes and Alejandro Monzon. FNU did not escape without a card, however, as defender
Kilian Mokamanede was shown a yellow in the 71st.
Up Next: The Conquistadors head to West Palm Beach, Fla., for an 11:00 a.m. match this Saturday versus Keiser.
