LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (April 30, 2026) — Conquistador softball (25-16) held an RV Georgia Gwinnett College (28-22) squad scoreless through three innings before falling 4-0 on day two of the 2026 Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship. The Conquistadors connected on just three hits against GGC's pitcher Tatum Helsom.
An 11-hit performance yesterday against the Westcliff University Warriors was a thing of the past, as FNU was denied prime scoring opportunities against GGC through seven frames. The Conquistadors left four runners stranded and had hits by

Alisha Lanyon (two) account for all of their offense in the shutout defeat.

Brunella Beteta was keeping the Grizzlies at bay early, conceding the game's first run on a base hit by Brooke Rockhold in the fourth. Sophie Sisk's triple to right field in the fifth made it a 2-0 affair before GGC exited the side with an RBI single up the middle of the field by Sara Roussel.
GGC ran in one last score in the sixth off a Molly Kemp double, as Beteta ended the game with 11 hits allowed and two strikeouts. Helsom earned her eleventh win of 2026 on four strikeouts and a pair of walks.
