Olszewski’s heads-up goal ends intense CAC win over Fisher

HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2026) — Conquistador men's soccer (8-4-1) came out the victor in a dramatic 1-0 triumph over the visiting Fisher College Falcons (5-4-0) Sunday. The Conquistadors weathered several yellow cards and a red card in the first half to eventually ice the Falcons in front of a home crowd.

The first half between these two Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) institutions ended in a deadlock with FNU tallying all 13 of the shots in the period. The Conquistadors had a pair of attempts land in the hands of keeper Edoardo Berini, but the real drama began in the final five minutes of play. A hard tackle by Eitan Blumen earned him a yellow card but also started a bit of a pushing and shoving match that saw defender Agustin Nicolas Morales sent off the pitch on a red card.

FNU played the remaining minutes of the match with just 10 men but still did not concede many scoring opportunities for the Falcons. FC recorded just four shots in the second half, along with yellow cards for Juan Azzaro, Pau Guillamon Martin and Andrew Ron. Keeper Ignacio Pacheco had both of his saves in the second half during the crucial closing minutes, as FNU had multiple chances for a potential game-winner.

Leading goalscorer David Luque Rivero took a great-looking shot from midfield that caught Berini out of position but could not take the friendly bounce inside the net in the 50th minute. FNU was finally able to get its much-needed score thanks to touch passes from Luque Rivero and Riku Yasuda that set up the successful header by Michael Olszewski in the 74th.

FNU remains undefeated in CAC play this season as Fisher returns to Boston with a 1-1 trip to the Sunshine State.

Up Next: FNU heads to the CAC Classic hosted by Georgia Gwinnett College from Oct. 10-12.
