VERO BEACH, Fla. (March 10, 2025) — Florida National (11-10) made easy work of the Penn State University Mont Alto Lions (0-5) on Monday, grabbing a 12-2 win on a 13-hit outing. The Conquistadors are now 5-0 in as many contests and 1-1 against Mont Alto over two seasons.

Mont Alto experienced a chilly afternoon from the batter's box, totaling just six hits against three different Conquistador pitchers. Brady Bigler went 2-4 for the visiting Lions and John Copenhaver had the best performance, going 2-3. Braden Zeger and Gavin Kissel accounted for both Mont Alto runs, as FNU's offense was hard to contain.

FNU was walked nine times by Mont Alto's four-pitcher staff, and the Conquistadors totaled nine RBIs. Second baseman Christian Febus had the best showing for FNU, going 3-4 with a home run recorded. He also tallied a team-high four runs, while catcher Cesar Mora claimed three RBIs.

Canadian national Alexis Dubeau got the start with an impressive showing in five innings. Dubeau allowed three hits and two strikeouts. 

FNU was scheduled to play a second game against Penn State Greater Allegheny but was forced to leave early because inclement weather canceled the game.
