Florida National handed scoreless loss to Lynn Knights

BOCA RATON, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2025) — Florida National men's tennis (0-2) recorded an unfortunate 4-0 defeat against NCAA DII Lynn University (4-2) Tuesday afternoon. The Conquistadors fell flat in two out of three doubles matches, dropping to 0-4 against the Fighting Knights dating back to 2018-19. 

To open play at the Perper Tennis Complex in Boca Raton, Fla., FNU's doubles pairs were outmatched by two stellar Lynn duos. Notably, the Conquistador combo of Anis Kerfah and Alejandro Suarez posted a 6-1 victory over Lynn's Alessio Demichelis and Santino Morel.

Despite the win, FNU lost the opening point after LU's Davide Cortimiglia and Lennart Ostheimer grabbed an easy 6-1 win against Gustavo Masu and Luigi Stefanacci. A 6-2 win in match three from Daniel Azar and Aaron Brandenburger against Ignacio Acosta and Daniele Trentin sent both teams to the singles portion of the competition.

It didn't take long for Lynn to establish its dominance in three straight singles wins. 

Kerfah fell 6-1, 6-2 opposite Demichelis. Acosta faced a similar fate against Aymen Alimoussa, 6-2, 6-1, and Stefanacci had the best showing of the afternoon in his close 6-2, 7-5 loss to Morel.
