Llanos and Gonzalez shine in loss to Keiser

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 19, 2025) — Conquistador women's basketball (3-3) lost its 13th consecutive game versus the Keiser University Seahawks (4-2) on Wednesday. FNU's tough second-quarter performance, plus early foul trouble, culminated in a 93-75 loss on the road.

To start this battle in West Palm Beach, Fla., FNU was right in the mix, taking a 16-12 lead in the first quarter. Kaylee Llanos led this campaign with 11 points on three made threes. Keiser responded, however, with a 10-3 scoring run to end the frame up 22-19 after Caidyn Cannon finished at the rim with 51 seconds remaining in the quarter. Llanos sat for a large chunk of the half after picking up two quick fouls in the first and another one in the second, leaving the door open for Keiser to put some numbers on the board.

The Seahawks continued their offensive run in the second, outscoring FNU 24-13. Keiser shot the ball extremely well at 66.7% and converted eight of nine shots from the free-throw line. Cannon and Jasmyn Hale combined for 19 of the Seahawks' first-half points, while Ziul Gonzalez and Jaylyn Laguna had eight and five points, respectively, before the break.

Keiser also outrebounded FNU 15-7, grabbing six offensive boards in the first quarter.

In the second half, FNU sought to will itself back into contention despite Keiser's efficiency keeping the Seahawks out of reach. Nine converted field goals in the third helped the home team outscore FNU 25-11. Llanos and Gonzalez were responsible for eight of those 11 points as Keiser continued to cash in at the free-throw line, going 5-6.

To their credit, the Conquistadors continued to attack despite being down 71-43 entering the fourth. FNU penetrated the paint, forcing 14 shot attempts at the charity stripe. Llanos was especially aggressive with four fouls. The Hialeah, Fla., native converted six out of eight free throws and posted 11 fourth-quarter points. Gonzalez did her part to keep FNU involved with eight points in the frame before senior Hermione Hicks picked up her fifth foul with under two minutes left in the game.

Llanos had her second 30-point game of the season on 10-16 shooting. Gonzalez posted 18 in 38 minutes and a team-high seven assists. Valeria Cifuentes grabbed eight points off the bench while Hicks paced the team with five boards.
