Five seniors score in men’s soccer’s 12-0 rout of SFBC

HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 30, 2025) — Florida National (10-3-3) had a spectacular senior day at Henry Milander Park with five seniors scoring a goal in the Conquistadors' 12-0 rout of South Florida Bible College. Notably, Filipe Sette Ribeiro paced FNU with four goals in the Conquistadors' final match at Milander Park in 2025.

FNU took five minutes off the clock before scoring its first goal on a put-back from close range by Ribeiro. As soon as the ball was put in play at midfield, Santiago Sanchez Lopez made it a 2-0 affair by stealing the ball from the feet of a Ram defender before capitalizing on the 1v1 opportunity. Ribeiro continued to be a problem for the Rams, netting his second goal of the match in the 15th minute and using a pass from senior Luis Martinez for his third goal in the 28th.

With four minutes left in the half, the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native got his final goal of the match, assisted by David Luque. Sub Michael Olszewski capped off a six-goal half with his unassisted stunner a minute later to highlight the end of the period. FNU tallied 21 shots and allowed just one for the Rams. Goalkeeper Vitor Caetano Pedrosa had the lone save of the afternoon for FNU's goalies, and Joaquin Di Julio was subbed in at the 35th minute to finish out the match.

At halftime, Mateo Cigaina, Caetano, Sanchez, Ricardo Delwing, Christian Omar Hernandez, Gaston Fermoselle, Luis Martinez and Facundo Jose Terra were all honored at midfield with a very special senior day ceremony. Each player was walked through a tunnel of their teammates as family members walked them to receive their framed jersey, commemorating their careers as Conquistadors. Women's soccer assistant Garo Balian read through speeches for each student-athlete, thanking them for their time and dedication to the FNU men's soccer program.

As play resumed in the second, FNU continued to pour it on with other seniors getting in the mix. Delwing used a corner from Luque for his goal three minutes into the half, while Hernandez scored with a touch pass from Ribeiro in the 53rd. Six minutes later, Martinez finally converted a goal after a stout pass by Hernandez close to the Rams' goalkeeper. Cigaina's goal in the 66th made it a 10-0 ball game in front of an excited home crowd. The Rams would go on to concede scores by Augusto Pugin and Luque before the final whistle blew on the pitch.

FNU posted 17 shots and three corners in the second, allowing no shots and two corner kicks for the Rams.
