Sette Ribeiro’s hat trick highlights 6-0 rout of Webber Warriors

HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 1, 2025) — Florida National (5-1-3) found the back of the net six times in its shutout win over The Sun Conference's Webber International University (3-6-1). Reigning NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week, Filipe Sette Ribeiro, had his first hat trick of the season to keep FNU undefeated at home.

It took FNU just 17 seconds to get its first goal on the board, thanks to a pair of crisp passes by Juan Pugin and Juan Ignacio Latorre that set up a confident strike from midfielder Fabio Zandona Tajra. As play continued, it became clear FNU was in the driver's seat when a shot from Sette Ribeiro rebounded to the waiting head of defender Alejandro Octavio Castillo Gados to make it 2-0 in the 22nd.

Under two minutes later, Sette Ribeiro finally found the back of the net after Diego Lozano's pass created an open window for the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, forward to bury his fourth goal of 2025. WIU seemed to be shell-shocked from the opening whistle, collecting four shot attempts in the period and forcing just two saves from goalkeeper Vitor Caetano Pedrosa. The Conquistadors had 12 shots taken and three corners awarded before heading to the locker rooms at the half.

The second period was the Sette Ribeiro show as the striker posted back-to-back unassisted goals within the first 15 minutes of the frame. Webber's defense grew aggressive in the second, as the team totaled 10 fouls and three yellow cards in the final 45 minutes. Latorre and Caetano were both given yellow cards in the second half before Dylan Robert Ray Frank Gibbs scored FNU's final goal of the contest, assisted by Thiago Sanots Bayer and Augusto Pugin in the 83rd minute.

Caetano ended the match with three saves, and FNU moves to 2-1-1 against the Warriors since its first meeting in 2015.
