Five years of excellence: Florida National awarded Gold Level Institution honors in NAIA 2025-2026 Champions of Character Institution Awards

HIALEAH, Fla. (July 29, 2026) — Florida National was once again recognized as a Gold Level Institution in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Awards. The 2025-2026 season marks the fifth consecutive season in which FNU has received this accolade with a perfect score.

Florida National is one of nine member schools to achieve a 100-point score for the last five years.

FNU is proud to support the NAIA Champions of Character program, an initiative dedicated to going well beyond the playing field. Its character values help young people – and those involved in their development – make good choices across all aspects of their lives and reflect the true spirit of competition. The five core values: respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership are put into play, accounted for, and tracked at all NAIA schools.

"Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion," said the NAIA's press release on July 29.

"Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year."
