Conquistadors go 3-1 in Georgia

AUGUSTA, Ga. (March 7, 2026) — Conquistador baseball (12-9) was undeniable in 3-0,15-10 wins over the Mid-Atlantic Christian University Mustangs (2-10) and the Paine College Lions (2-7) Saturday. Shortstop Jesus Sosa was great versus the Mustangs, going two-for-four from the plate for two RBIs, while Alejandro De Armas grabbed four hits in game two.

To start a busy morning, FNU once again scored a tough win against USCAA rival Mid-Atlantic Christian behind great pitching from Braden Parmley. The junior out of Utah went all seven frames for seven strikeouts and just one walk, awarded to MACU's Titus Bleckley.

Along with a strong performance from Parmley, Sosa and De Armas took care of the FNU offense with a pair of hits in four trips to the plate. Catcher Cesar Mora and outfielder Noe Davila joined Sosa with one run scored in the victory as both teams kept a clean sheet with no errors on the board.

Game two versus Paine College saw the Conquistadors mount a 16-10 victory over the Lions after falling 4-0 the previous afternoon. This was FNU's fifth-ever win in Augusta and snapped a three-game losing streak that began in February of the 2025 season.

The visiting team owes a big part of its victory to an eight-run burst in the fourth inning, along with a four-hit performance in five plate appearances by De Armas. The freshman from Hialeah, Fla., also tallied three runs to pace the team. Five different pitchers hit the mound for the Conquistadors and starter Julio Amoedo ended his 2.1 innings of action with a team-high five strikeouts.

FNU baseball is now 4-1 over its last five games, with its first taste of Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) action set for next weekend at home.

Up Next: Baseball faces two PSU schools next Tuesday in Vero Beach, Fla., starting at 1 p.m.
