Seniors lead FNU to an 86-68 win over UFTL

HIALEAH, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2026) — Gary Adams, Trevon Clark and Cameron Johnson pushed Florida National (7-15) to a stellar 18-point win over the University of Fort Lauderdale Eagles (11-15) in their final game as Conquistadors. This was FNU's second-ever win against the Eagles and its first since the 2021-22 season.

The Conquistadors had an advantage from start to finish and headed into halftime with a healthy lead of 41-25. All five of FNU's starters scored at least four points, with Ronald Fernandez, Serge Beauvoir and Houston Culpepper pacing the team with six points apiece.

Adams and Hasmar Francois joined Clark for the first five first-half points as FNU out-rebounded the Eagles 24-11. FNU did turn the ball over 24 times, but were getting the Eagles in foul trouble with nine attempts from the free-throw line.

When play picked up once more in the second, FNU relied on an impressive 24-point burst from Johnson to close out the Eagles on home court. Johnson did most of his damage in foul trouble with three or four personals during the frame. UFTL could not keep up with the Conquistadors, especially when shooting just 37.8% from the floor.

Adams was great with a pair of points and three assists before fouling out with three minutes remaining. Despite heading to the bench, the senior received a round of applause from the crowd in a show of respect for his time in a Conquistadors uniform.

FNU ends the 2025-26 season 2-2 over its last four and 2-4 at Bucky Dent Park.
