Florida National extinguished by SEU Fire 4-0

HIALEAH, Fla. (March 29, 2025) — Florida National women's tennis (3-5) ended the week with a sweeping loss to the No. 4-ranked Southeastern University Fire. SEU ran through a gauntlet of talented FNU players, dropping the Conquistadors to 3-2 in Sun Conference play.

To begin the match, FNU conceded an early 1-0 lead to the visiting Fire in doubles play. Natalia Calvo and Fabiola Bsereni missed the mark 6-1 against Neleah Neiberline and Irene Lopez. Fire pair Carlotta Marzano and Alessia Ciampi posted a 6-2 win over Nadia Abad and Alara Juelide Akgul to wrap up the doubles position of the morning match.

A heated game between FNU duo Julia Chodkowska and Lavinia Anais Karadža and SEU's Isabella Bolivar Garces and Irene Parigi was left unfinished at 4-3.

In singles play, losses from Akgul and Chodkowska made it a 3-0 affair in favor of the fire. Akgul fell 6-1, 6-1 to Parigi and Chodkowska's 6-2, 6-3 defeat to Marzano all but assured the Fire's victory on the road. Neiberline bested Abad 7-5, 6-3, as FNU lost its fourth consecutive match opposite Southeastern.

FNU is now 0-5 against SEU all-time.
