Men’s tennis swarmed by SCAD in 4-0 defeat

SAVANNAH, Ga. (March 21, 2025) — Florida National men's tennis (0-5) was outmatched in a scoreless loss to the No. 11 SCAD Savannah Bees (8-4). FNU is now 0-2 in Sun Conference play and 0-2 against SCAD all-time.

In doubles play, SCAD got off on the right foot with an early 1-0 lead. Alejandro Suarez and Daniele Trentin were tripped up against David Lopez Cruz and Danil Ozernoy 6-2. FNU pair Gustavo Masu and Luigi Stefanacci faced an identical setback against Diego Fernandez and Mark Tryakshin. 

FNU's Mats-Jonathan Werner and Lukas Nico Kopitzki trailed 5-2 in their unfinished double match against Ahmed Abdelaziz and Adam Jaupart.

In singles play, FNU could not squeeze out a win in any of the matches to keep itself in contention. David Santamaria fell to Ozernoy 6-2, 6-0 and Ignacio Acosta was bested by Tryakshin in straight 6-0 sets. Jaupart also came out on top in his match opposite FNU senior Stefanacci in a 6-1, 6-0 battle. 

Kopitzki, Suarez and Werner were forced to leave their respective matches unfinished.
