Conquistadors handle Tigers at Bucky Dent

HIALEAH, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2025) — Florida National (3-2) used a team effort to defeat the NCCAA's Trinity College of Florida Tigers (1-1), 62-48 in front of a home crowd at Bucky Dent Park. The Conquistadors had nine different players score at least one field goal in their third-ever victory over the Tigers out of New Port Richey, Fla.

To start the game, FNU set the tone early with 10 from Kaylee Llanos on 3-4 shooting from the floor by the junior. Ziul Gonzalez also impressed with six of her 16 points coming in the opener, and the freshman also brought down three boards. As a result, FNU led 22-10 entering the second and held the Tigers to 33.3% shooting from the floor and behind the three-point line. Reserve Skylar Alexander had five of the Tigers' 10 in the first despite her team's offensive struggles.

Before the break, FNU made it a 38-22 Conquistador lead behind six points from Maria De Gracia Karamanites. Gonzalez also contributed nicely with four points on 2-2 shooting from the field, as FNU's defense forced seven TCF turnovers before halftime rolled around. TCF stayed afloat behind seven first-half points from Brynn Stambaugh but still found itself facing a hefty deficit after two.

In the second half, FNU relied heavily on five steals from Gonzalez and six points from the Miami native to close the door on the Tigers in the third. FNU outscored TCF 15-9, as De Gracia and Jaylyn Laguna combined for seven crucial points before the fourth quarter began. Despite being outscored 17-9 in the fourth, FNU still saw positive minutes from Lamaria Williams, Savannah Villarreal and Jessica Carreras in the final frame.

De Gracia and Llanos each had 14, while Gonzalez paced the team with 16 points and five rebounds. De Gracia had five steals while Laguna had one of her best games this season with eight points, one assist and a steal.
