Men’s tennis falters in final Round-Up match versus Loyola

MOBILE, Ala. (April 1, 2023) – Florida National University's men's tennis team ended their stay at the Southern States Athletic Conference's (SSAC) Round-Up 1-2, following a 4-3 loss to RV Loyola University. The Wolfpack recently dropped from the NAIA's Top-25 list but were eager to capture a huge conference win over the rolling Conquistadors. FNU had secured a 4-3 win over Mobile University the previous day. 

FNU dominated doubles play with two wins from partners Umberto Particelli and Guido Gentile and Luigi Stefanacci and David De Ayguavives to secure the opening point. Four singles losses, however, deprived the Conquistadors of a much-needed win. Notably, Guido Gentile and Luigi Stefanacci iced out their Loyola opponents with 6-1, 6-7, 6-3 and 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 singles romps.
