FNU defeats EWU at home in a doubleheader matchup.

MIAMI – California native Kyra Sunga tossed 7.0 innings before finishing with the game and improving the conquistadors to 20-8. The FNU softball team's 5-4 victory over Edward Waters University in the first game of the doubleheader would only propel the conquistadors for a strong start.

Arianna started it off the scoring in the first inning after an error and a hit from Kyra Sunga to bring Spinnichia home. Kyra Sunga would score the second run for the Conquistadors to put them ahead 2-0 after an error and a double by Gabriela Obando.

The Tigers of EWU would tie it up in the second after a double from Jade Mention to bring in two runners.

Arianna would score the third run off a sacrifice fly from Kyra Sunga in the bottom of the 2nd

FNU Softball's Gabriela Obando would hit a solo home run to improve the score 4-2, followed by another run by Sunga after a single, stolen base, & double by Meg Johnson.

EWU would attempt to make a comeback by scoring two more runs in the top of the 7th but it wasn't enough for the Tigers. The game concludes with a 5-4 final score.

Game 2 

The FNU softball team would allow 3 runs & 11 hits in six innings. Edward Waters took control with two runs in the first four innings a pair of runs in the second, before your Conquistadors took over to dominate the Tigers with a final score of 11-3 and concluding the game in 6 innings.

The Conquistadors would make a comeback after scoring eight runs in the fifth and tallying 8 hits, 1 error, and attributing 3 more runs on 4 hits in the 6th inning to call the game. The Tigers will have one more scoring opportunity in the top of the 5th with the bases loaded and walking a tiger home for a free run before Mills pops up for the final out.
