Breyuna Walker, the Florida National women's basketball team (1-2) fell to the Webber International Warriors (1-0), 83-56, on Tuesday evening.
Walker led all Conquistadors with 12 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor and 5-of-5 shooting from the free-throw line. The native of Tampa, Florida, also grabbed five rebounds, registered three steals, and notched one block. Stewart and Akins scored 10 points apiece. Stewart shot 3-of-11 from the floor including 2-of-6 from 3-point range. Akins converted 4-of-12 from the field and was 2-of-5 from downtown. She also recorded six rebounds. Delores Charlton.
On the night, FNU shot 33.3 percent from the floor (17-of-51) and was 7-of-20 from 3-point range (35.0 percent). WIU shot 27-of-64 from the field (42.2 percent), including 31.3 percent from beyond the arc (5-of-16). The Warriors outrebounded the Conquistadors, 48-33, including an 18-10 on the offensive glass.
The Conquistadors return to the court on Saturday November 14, hosting Trinity Baptist. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
