HIALEAH, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2018) – The Florida National University Volleyball team (10-8) kept their winning streak alive in a three-set victory, on Wednesday night September 26th at Bucky Dent Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET 1 | FNU opened the first set with five unanswered points, including back-to-back service aces to pad the lead. St. Thomas came back to force a tie at 10-10, the first of 11 ties in the opening set. The Bobcats forced extra points in the first set against the Conquistadors as they dropped the set by a score of 27-25.
SET 2 | STU opened up the second set with an 8-2 run, which featured three straight service aces from Sophia Adorno before FNU called their first timeout. The Bobcats opened up a 19-13 lead over the Conquistadors before FNU rallied for five consecutive points to cut the STU lead to one point. Florida National closed the set with another run of three consecutive points to take the victory over St. Thomas at 22-25.
SET 3 | The third and final set of the match featured another close set as the clubs were unable to generate much separation between themselves as the largest lead was only a slight three-point advantage. FNU closed out the set and the match with a 25-21 victory.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Ines Balwedin led the Conquistadors with 12 kills.
- Camilla Kahlich added 10 kills while Maricielo Zuluaga had 7.
- Splitting time directing the offense, Carolina Dantas registered 29 assists and one server Ace.
- Tatyana Garcia, Carolina Dantas e Jade Charlot had 14, 13 and 11 Digs respectively.
