Phillip Maestas Bohn became the fourth head men’s soccer coach for Florida National University in the summer of 2025. He has collected a plethora of accolades over his 18 years as a college coach, including four conference championships and three NAIA National Tournament appearances.
Bohn's resume includes coaching 12 NAIA All-Americans, over 20 NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes and over 50 All-Conference players throughout his illustrious career.
Bohn’s most recent head coaching position was at Webber International University (2023-2024) in Babson Park, Fla. He spent two seasons with the Warriors, leading them to back-to-back appearances in The Sun Conference Tournament. Notably, he also served as an assistant coach for the Warriors’ women’s soccer team under Jack Paris.
Before taking over the WIU’s men’s soccer program, Bohn had an impressive six-season tenure as the head coach of the LSU-Shreveport Pilots (2017-2023). Bohn built the soccer program from the ground up and orchestrated a 76-34-8 overall record on the pitch. Bohn was named Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Coach of the Year in 2022, helped the Pilots capture the conference title and punched his team’s ticket to the NAIA National Tournament. The 2022 season also saw Bohn and the Pilots named the United Soccer Coaches West Region Staff of the Year.
Bohn also spent time at three NAIA institutions as a head men’s soccer coach for Kansas Wesleyan University, Central Baptist College (Arkansas) and the University of Jamestown (North Dakota). He built a competitive program at each stop, advancing to the Round of 16 at the national tournament with Jamestown in 2012 and achieving a 37-18-5 record over three years at Kansas Wesleyan.
At the NCAA Division III level, Bohn was the Associate Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga., from June 2007 to December 2008 before becoming the head coach for the 2009 season.
Bohn is a member of the NAIA national selection committee and is a former president of the NAIA executive committee. He holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National 'B' Coaching License and earned NSCAA (now United Soccer Coaches) advanced regional diplomas.
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Bohn has a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising from St. Cloud State University. He is pursuing a Master of Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy.
