Michael Jimenez joined Florida National University men’s and women’s tennis in the winter of 2025. He became just the second head coach in program history.
Florida National tennis has been a member of The Sun Conference since 2023-24, with the men’s and women’s teams receiving votes on multiple occasions in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll over the last two seasons. The Conquistador women made their first trip to the conference tournament in 2024-25.
Before bringing his talents to Hialeah, Fla., Jimenez was the Head of Collegiate and High Performance Training for Valiente Tennis Academy since 2017. Since 2011, he’s lent his time to Ortega Advanced Tennis Training as a head coach for junior development and a consultant.
Jimenez brings to Florida National a multitude of certifications, including a level three coaching certification from the International Tennis Federation. He also holds a certification from the ITF in Technique, Biometrics and Fitness.
Jimenez holds a bachelor's and a Master’s in Sports Management from the Universidad Privada Telesup in Lima, Peru.
