Delesseps “Del” Dolese has been a board certified athletic trainer (BOCATC) for 28 years and state licensed (AT-L) for 26, joining Florida National University as its head trainer in the fall of 2026.

When asked why he was interested in pursuing and staying in the profession of athletic training and sports medicine, Dolese said, “Because you can help student athletes, coaches, school staff and anyone within the school community with first aid, injury evaluations, treatment and rehabilitation at little or no direct cost.”

“When your intervention is successful, the gratitude and respect you receive transcends monetary compensation.”

A native of New Orleans, Dolese is a 1996 graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette (The Ragin' Cajuns) where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. In 1998, Dolese earned a Master of Science in Human Performance and Kinesiology from Baylor University (Baylor Bears).

After finishing his master’s at Baylor, Dolese moved to work as an athletic trainer for 10 years in the Lafayette, La., area. After Hurricane Katrina in 2008, Dolese relocated to the greater New Orleans area to work with Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute and Delgado Community College for five years. Moreover, he proceeded to work with Ochsner Sports Medicine and Salmen High School for the next 12 years.

In the fall of 2025, Dolese moved to South Florida to continue his career as an athletic trainer and sports therapist. Along with being a seasoned athletic trainer, Dolese has a passion for coaching and playing tennis and pickleball.
