Ryan Raposo was promoted as Florida National University’s third Athletic Director on March 27th, 2020. In his first year, he helped elevate FNU to active member status in the NAIA after being associate members for three years. FNU Athletics has dual-affiliate membership in the USCAA, is a member of the NAIA's Continental Athletic Conference (CAC), and competes in PlayVs and the National Esports Collegiate Conference for Esports. Since March 2023, Raposo has served as a member of the CAC Executive Committee, and he has also served on various USCAA committees over the years. He is currently the USCAA Cross Country / Track & Field Committee Chair.
In his six years as AD, Raposo has overseen much academic success. This includes a student-athlete cumulative GPA never less than 3.12, an association leading 491 USCAA National All-Academic selections, and 68 NAIA Scholar-Team Awards earned. For the 2023-24 school year, Raposo was selected as the Continental Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year.
Raposo previously served as FNU’s initial NAIA campus character liaison. In 2019-20, he helped FNU earn its first NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Award becoming a Bronze Level institution. Overseeing the department as AD over the following years, he oversaw FNU elevate to Silver Level in 2020-21, followed by Gold Level every year since, earning a perfect 100-point score each year. FNU is one of only nine schools in the NAIA to achieve a perfect score for the last five consecutive years.

Raposo also previously served as FNU’s inaugural cross country head coach for two seasons, and from 2023 onward has served in various head coach and assistant coach roles for both the cross country and track & field programs. As a coach, Raposo has seen six NAIA individual national qualifiers in cross country, two NAIA individual national qualifiers in track & field, 20 individual and two relay conference champions, eight individual and one relay USCAA Small College National Champions, and had one USCAA cross country student-athlete of the year.
In 2024-25 Raposo was selected as part of the USCAA Men's & Women's Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year, along with Coach Robert Overby and Coach Anne Lambert, and in 2025-26 he was selected as the Continental Athletic Conference Coach of Character.
Athletically as a department, Raposo has overseen seven NAIA National Championship qualifying teams, one CAC Championship, two USCAA Small College National Championships, 14 CAC Runner-Ups, and three USCAA Small College National Runner-Ups. In addition, in 2021-22 he oversaw the start of a new Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field program, and in 2023-24 the start of a new Esports competitive online gaming program.

Prior to joining FNU, Raposo coached for two years at St. Thomas University (Miami) where he assisted with cross country and helped develop a new track & field program. In that time, he contributed to multiple Sun Conference team runner-ups, multiple NAIA national qualifiers, and the track team’s first individual Sun Conference champion. Raposo is USA Weightlifting Level 1 certified (USAW), and USA Track & Field (USATF) Level 2 certified in Endurance events, Sprints / Hurdles / Relays, and Jumping events.
Administratively, since 2006, Raposo has worked with Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Greater Miami Athletic Conference (GMAC) and Midde School Athletics Program (MSAP), as well as the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) where he served on their FACA Board of Directors from 2013-16. And since 2009-10, Raposo has been on the Junior Orange Bowl Committee and the Dade County Fair & Expo Committee helping coordinate their annual youth athletic events.
Prior to collegiate coaching, Raposo served for over a dozen years as an educator, and high school track & field and cross country program director. Over the years as an event coordinator and meet director he has helped host more than 250 track & field meets, cross country meets, and road races for local middle schools, high schools, colleges, and the South Florida running community.
Raposo has a Master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Florida with a specialization in Athlete Performance and Development and is a certified Athlete Development Specialist (PAADS). His Bachelor’s degree is in Psychology from Florida International University. He resides in Miami (West Kendall) with his wife.
