Anne Lambert joined Florida National as the university’s head cross country coach in January 2025 and became the first female head coach in school history. A Florida native, Lambert also serves as the Conquistadors' track and field assistant coach.

In her first season with FNU's track and field teams, Lambert helped coach the men to a third place finish at the USCAA Track and Field National Championship. For their efforts, Lambert, Ryan Raposo and head track coach Robert Overby were awarded USCAA Men's Track and Field Coaching Staff of the Year. Lambert also lent a hand in FNU hosting the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Track and Field Championship in late April, where FNU totaled two school records, 12 championships in 11 individual events and one relay, 17 personal records and seven runners-up.

Coach Lambert brought multiple years of coaching experience at the high school level to FNU's cross country and track programs. After five seasons as an assistant, she was named the cross country head coach at West Broward High School in the summer of 2024. She was also the Bobcat’s assistant track coach for five months in 2020 before taking over the program in January 2021.

Decades before her time at West Broward, Lambert’s first high school coaching stint was in 2001 at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. One year removed from graduating high school, she was an assistant cross country coach with the Raiders until November 2003. During her tenure, the cross country team finished in the top two at the state level twice, winning district, regional, and county championships on multiple occasions.

The Raiders also posted an undefeated regular season record each year during Lambert’s stay and several top ten individual finishers at the state championships. After three seasons as an assistant cross country coach, Lambert was promoted to the Raiders’ head coach in 2004. Lambert’s first season saw her rebuild a team that lost six out of seven varsity athletes to graduation into a successful squad competing for state championship accolades.

From 2002-2005, Lambert also pitched in as St. Thomas Aquinas’ assistant track and field coach, where she worked with some of the best coaches and athletes in the state. Raider track and field won numerous invitationals, posted an undefeated record every year, and swept district, regional, and state championships for four consecutive seasons. Notably, Lambert also coached Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross and saw several male athletes go on to successful careers in the NFL.

As an athlete, Coach Lambert graduated from Charles W. Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, Fla., in 2000. With the Falcons, she ran four years of track and cross country, qualifying for state championships every year in both sports. Notably, she placed within the top eight at states in her junior and senior seasons in the 4x800M relay.

Lambert earned her bachelor’s in general studies from Louisiana State University at Alexandria in December of last year. She lives with her husband of over 20 years, Justin, and the pair share four children. Lambert still enjoys running competitively and has participated in several marathons, half-marathons, 5K, and 10K races.
